careers in mining copper or steel, or yearned to be doctors
and lawyers.
In 1962 McCaw received a scholarship to attend the San
Francisco Academy of Design. The Academy has had a nationwide

Ricardo Carbajal-Moss
When I paint, I work intuitively. The objects I incorporate into my work are everyday things I see around me. I paint in and finish each object before I choose a next one for my work. I used to paint abstract compositions as well as surreal dreams. Abstraction left me cold and removed from reality. The surreal world I painted left me sad and alone. Magically both of these disciplines taught me to love the representational world more. Now in my representational world, there is a land, a tabletop, or a window. ....[more

Robert Minami
The threshold between abstraction and non-objective art is
a thin line for Robert Minami, and he moves easily between
the two in expressing his love for design in watercolor,
acrylic and mixed media. What pulls him back into abstraction

William Engel is pleased to present his “waterworks” in
Solana Beach, having found “a serenity in the California
coast” that plays perfect host to these paintings.

abstractions of sky, water and land. This bold and mesmerizing
work has brought to William Engel scores of admirers on both
coasts...[more

David Slonim
David Slonim grew up in New Jersey where his family enjoyed weekends at their log cabin in the Kittatiny Mountains. "I remember the mist on the lake in the early morning, the haunting song of the wood thrush in the cedars, and the smell of the local peach orchard. As an adult, those kinds of impressions are the things that drive me to paint."[more
